Bella-Kotchap hails ‘Exceptional’ Orban after match-winning brace

Hellas Verona defender Armel Bella-Kotchap has praised Gift Orban as “exceptional” following the striker’s decisive performance in the club’s 2-1 win over Fiorentina on Sunday.

Orban, who was named Man of the Match, proved to be the difference between the two sides in the Serie A clash involving the league’s bottom teams.

Introduced in the 35th minute as a replacement for Giovane, the Nigerian forward wasted little time making his impact, opening the scoring just seven minutes later with a superb finish.

He then capped off a memorable outing by sealing the victory in the third minute of added time, securing all three points for Hellas Verona.

“I’m really happy for him (Orban). He was exceptional, played a very important match and helped us win with his two goals. He, like the whole team, must continue like this,” Bella-Kotchap told DAZN after the game.

“We worked as a team. Each of my teammates did the right job for this victory, and we want to continue like this.”

The striker has registered four goals and one assist in 12 league appearances for the Yellow and Blues this season.
