Belkin Recalls Auto-Tracking Stand and Power Banks Over Fire Risk

Belkin has announced a major recall affecting thousands of units of its popular Auto-Tracking Stand Pro for iPhone and two models of its BoostCharge USB-C PD power banks. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), a manufacturing defect in the lithium-ion battery cells could lead to overheating, posing serious fire and burn risks.

What’s Affected?

The recall affects the following products sold between August 2020 and August 2025:

  • Auto-Tracking Stand Pro (Model: MMA008)
  • BoostCharge 20,000mAh USB-C PD Power Bank (Models: BPB002 and PB0003)

These devices were sold through Belkin’s online store and major retailers including Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and Amazon. A total of 83,500 units in the United States and 2,385 in Canada are part of the recall.

Reported Incidents

Although only one fire incident has been reported in the US, 15 similar cases have occurred globally. These include two reports of minor burns and approximately $37,765 in property damage.

What You Should Do

If you own any of the affected devices:

  1. Stop using them immediately.
  2. Visit Belkin’s website to fill out the recall claim form—you’ll need your receipt and device serial number.
  3. Belkin is offering either:
    • A full refund, or
    • Belkin.com store credit worth 100% of the purchase value plus 20% extra.
  4. Dispose of any recalled devices properly at an approved battery recycling facility. Do not throw them in household trash or regular recycling bins.

Why It Matters

Lithium-ion batteries, though widely used, can be hazardous if defective. Recalls like this highlight the importance of proper certification and testing, especially for high-capacity power accessories.

Belkin has a history of quality products, so this recall serves as a reminder to register devices and stay informed about safety updates.
