Belgian champions Antwerp fear they can’t stop youngster Ilenikhena big transfer

Belgian champions Antwerp have admitted they may not be able to hold on to youngster George as several top clubs across are knocking on the door.

Antwerp CEO Sven Jaecques has singled out 17-year-old striker Ilenikhena as one of the players most likely to leave in the summer.

“George is now also on the radar of almost every top European club,” Jaecques told Het Nieuwsblad

“Given his age and his grades, this is not surprising. George has also already indicated that he sees Antwerp as an intermediate step. If we can keep that boy here for another year,  that would be great.”

Ilenikhena, who was born in Nigeria before his family moved to France, has already scored eight times and provided an assist in 28 matches this season.

He cost Antwerp six Million Euros last summer from French second division club Amiens.

His market value is now estimated at €10 million by Transfermarkt.
