Barry Gibb delivered touching rendition of Bee Gees classic live on TV after brother's death despite feud

In a recently resurfaced clip, Barry Gibb delivered a stunning acoustic version of the Bee Gees hit song, To Love Somebody.

Gibb and his brothers - Robin and Maurice – became successfully known as the Bee Gees back in the 1960s and were prominent performers in the disco music era way into the late 1970s.

Despite their staggering success, the Gibb brothers struggled with fame and often clashed as a result.

Unfortunately for Gibb, he is now - and has been for 12 years - the last remaining Bee Gee member, with his brothers passing between 1988 and 2012.

Back in 2013, Gibb made an appearance on This Morning, with Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, the TV crew and millions watching at home being treated to a one-off and intimate performance from the star.

He discussed his first tour – Mythology – and opened up on how he felt hitting the road solo since the inception of the Bee Gees in 1958.

The tour was designed as a tribute to Robin who had been battling cancer complications since 2010 and died of liver and kidney failure in 2012

Robin’s twin brother Maurice died in 2003 due to complications of a twisted intestine, with their younger brother Andy dying in 1988 after battling drug addiction and depression.

Gibb was joined by his son Stephen Gibb and Maurice’s daughter Samantha Gibb, who both regularly joined him for duets on stage.

He previously said of his brothers: "On stage is hard. One minute you feel they're right with you, the next you know you've got to pull something off yourself.

"The audiences have been incredible, they've been so supportive. They're finding closure as well,” the told The Sun in 2013.

Despite the love they shared for one another, the Gibb brothers faced their challenges as a band and a family – leading them to feud with one another.

Gibb often came out unscathed from his brothers’ drug use, as he previously told the Irish Times: “My brothers had to deal with their demons, but I was married to a lady who wasn’t going to have it.

“I could bring drugs into the house, but they would end up down the toilet. She never allowed me to go in that direction. I had to deal with my brothers being pretty much out there, but I was lucky.”

He also often wondered why Robin refused to tell him he was ill, and admitted that they were “not really speaking” at the time of his death.

Gibb tried to give Andy some tough love, hoping to shake the addictions out of him but a few days later he died: “That’s all my brothers.”
