The last victim of the Bethel High School pupil kidn@pped in Kaduna, Treasure Ayuba, has been released after two years in captivity.

G¥nmen had in the early hours of Monday, July 5, 2021, stormed the school owned by a church in Damishi, Kaduna and abd¥cted 121 students of the school.

While others were released, Ayuba was the last victim to regain his freedom. He was released on Thursday, November 2, 2023, and has since reunited with his family.

President of the Nigeria Baptist Convention (NBC), Rev Israel Akanji, who confirmed his release in a statement said: “Glory be to God! Glory be to God!! Glory be to God!!! Treasure Ayuba, the last boy who was still with the bandits who kidn@pped the 121 students of Bethel Baptist High School, Kaduna, on July 5, 2021, has just returned home.

Thanks be to our unfailing God. Thank you also very much for your prayers and numerous support.”
