Athena has a spooky new contender for the ROH Women’s World Championship

No match announced just yet but it’s clear where they’re headed.

Athena stands strong holding the ROH Women’s World Championship for 614 days and counting. She is closing in on breaking Samoa Joe’s overall record of 645 with the ROH World Championship as the longest reign in company history. It won’t be an easy breeze through the finish line for Athena. It looks like the Forever Champ will still have to put in work, and a spooky new contender has emerged looking for a shot.

Athena delivered a promo conducting the first-ever live minion training session with Billie Starkz. The Minion Overlord demanded that Starkz do situps as punishment for losing the ROH Women’s World Television Championship. Athena thanked Lexy Nair for her bravery in ensuring that the women’s world title remains in her possession at Death Before Dishonor. Starkz’s efforts to assist were completely ignored by Athena.

The Fallen Goddess ran her mouth that the entire locker room is afraid to challenge her. That’s when Abadon’s music played. The Living Dead Girl entered from behind to give Athena the creeps. The champ scurried to safety when the zombie let out a shriek. Athena scolded Billie for not warning her of Abadon’s presence.

Backstage, Athena sassed Melissa Santos for the audacity to ask if she was scared of Abadon.

No official title match has been announced by ROH, but it seems that the direction for Athena’s next bout will be against Abadon.
