ASUN (SPICY ROASTED GOAT)

Asun (Spicy Roasted Goat) – delectable spicy roasted goat chopped into bite-sized pieces, with big bold aromatic flavors from onions, habanero, garlic and bell peppers. Smokey, sizzling, spicy! Definitely not for the faint-hearted. Native to the Yoruba speaking Ondo people in Western Nigeria.

INGREDIENTS:

_1kg grilled goat meat

_Scotch bonnet (Atarodo) to taste. But note that asun is usually spicy

_2 large onions

_seasoning cube

_½ cooking spoon vegetable oil 

_Salt to taste.

**PROCEDURE:

_Blend pepper and one onion coarsely, set aside.

_Slice the other onion and set aside. 

_Cut the grilled goat meat into bite-sizes. 

_Place a wok or frying pan on a stove top and set to medium heat, add vegetable oil. 

_When it’s hot, add the peppers and onions and saute. Add the seasoning and salt to taste. Let that cook for about 15 minutes.

_Then add the goat meat, stir to combine. Allow this to fry for another 10 minutes. 

_Now add the slices onion to the add to the meat and combine.

_Add some chopped green peppers if using. 

_Fry till the onions caramelise a bit and your asun is ready.
