Asisat Oshoala set to join Saudi club Al-Hilal
Super Falcons star, Asisat Oshoala is on the verge of completing a high-profile transfer to Saudi Womens Premier League side Al-Hilal, according to reports from The Athletic.  The move comes after Al-Hilal reached an agreement with U.S.-based club Bay FC over the Nigerian strikers transfer. Oshoala, 30, arrived in Riyadh on Monday and successfully passed her medical examinations, with an official announcement expected soon. The six-time African Womens Footballer of the Year only joined Bay FC in February 2024 following a trophy-laden spell with Barcelona Femeni, where she won multiple league titles and a UEFA Womens Champions League trophy. She scored on her debut for Bay FC in a 10 victory over Angel City and played her final match for the club in a 32 loss to Washington Spirit last weekend. Oshoalas arrival in Saudi Arabia marks another milestone for Nigerian football, with several Super Falcons stars already plying their trade in the countrys rapidly growing womens league. Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega play for Al-Ittihad, Rita Chikwelu represents Al-Riyadh, and Chinonyerem Macleans is on the books of Al-Shabab. The move is expected to further elevate the profile of womens football in Saudi Arabia and reinforce Oshoalas status as one of Africas most decorated players. The post Asisat Oshoala set to join Saudi club Al-Hilal appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
