Tolu Arokodare has called on authorities to take firm action against online racist trolls who targeted him following Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 1–0 defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday.

Arokodare missed a penalty during the match, after which both he and Wolves reportedly received abusive messages on social media, including racist slurs.

The 25-year-old condemned the abuse and insisted that those responsible must be held accountable.

“It’s still unbelievable to me that we’re playing in a time where people have so much freedom to communicate such racism without any consequences,” Arokodare wrote.
