ARMY OFFICERS WIVES SET UP STRUCTURES TO IMPROVE EDUCATION

Army Officers Wives’ Association has set up structures that will improve the educational requirements within the barrack community and its environs.

At a ceremony in Abuja, the wife of the chief of Defence Staff, Victoria Irabor, said the goal is to give the needed attention to the welfare needs of troops especially their families so the troops can in turn focus on their roles in the front lines. She also called for prayers for the country for sustainable peace. Victoria Irabor said the security challenges require the undivided attention of military personnel involved in the fight.

She also added that the security challenges in the country place a huge demand on the armed forces whose renewed offensive, in recent months, is recording some achievements.

The Nigerian Army Officers Wives’ association is an umbrella organization with a mandate to support the army by implementing welfare programmes that will improve the livelihoods of troops and their families.
