Army, hunters rescue kidnapped victim along Benue–Nasarawa border

A kidnap victim was rescued by troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, in collaboration with local hunters, during a security operation along the BenueNasarawa border. The Nigerian Army made this disclosure in a post on X. According to the post, the rescue operation was carried out at about 7:31 a.m. on July 17 by troops deployed at Forward Operating Base, FOB, Torkula. It further revealed that the victim was rescued at Ornan, a border community between Benue and Nasarawa states, following sustained pressure mounted by the security team on suspected kidnappers operating in the area. The rescued victim was immediately evacuated to a medical facility for assessment and treatment. Troops have continued to intensify clearance operations and dominate vulnerable communities across the BenueNasarawa border to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and ensure the safety of residents, the post read.The post Army, hunters rescue kidnapped victim along BenueNasarawa border appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
