An Anglican cleric, Reverend Canon Olowolagba has been abducted by unknown gunmen in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo State.

The cleric reports said was abducted alongside his wife, daughter and another girl on Saturday, December 28.

Eyewitnesses said the victims were kidnapped while they were travelling along the Akoko area of the state while travelling by the road.

The sources also said that the abductors have demanded a ransom of N75 million for the release of the victims.

Confirming the development, the Bishop of Akoko Anglican Diocese, Rt. Reverend Babajide Bada said, “The man involved is Reverend Olowolagba. He was travelling from Ipesi, with his wife, Mrs Olowolagba, and their 16-year old daughter, Goodness Olowolagba, a 100-level student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko (AAUA), who came for holiday at home, and a nine-year old girl staying with them, identified as Idowu.

“They called to ask for N75million ransom. And we said that’s very unreasonable. Later, they said N10 million.

“But when we’d gathered some money to go and secure their release, they changed to N15million,” the Reverend said.

He further stated that both the local security and other agencies are working to ensure the rescue of the victims.
