American Hero MJF drives for 10 hours to a garbage state to kick a foreigner’s ass

AEW American Champion MJF tried to get the jump on an exhausted Will Ospreay last week on Dynamite, but Ospreay’s close friend Kyle Fletcher made the save. Fletcher cut a fire promo on the scumbag champion, setting the stage for a Title Eliminator match tonight between MJF and Kyle. That is AEW’s fancy way of describing a non-title match where the challenger earns a future shot at the gold if he wins.

To his credit, MJF has apparently driven over 10 hours to the garbage state of North Carolina to fulfill his obligation as an American Hero and kick this Australian wrestler’s ass.

All flights to North Carolina have been cancelled, most likely because no one in their right mind would ever want to go to that garbage state (not my America). But since I am an American Hero and I have an obligation to my country to kick Kyle Fletcher’s ass, I am currently driving 10.5 hours to give Will Ospreay a preview of Wembley. #ThankMeLater

Fletcher is a massive underdog in this match, as he’s never been presented anywhere near MJF’s level in kayfabe. He will almost certainly lose, but Kyle should get plenty of time in the ring to show everyone why he deserves this spot.

After MJF successfully defends America from this foreign invader, it might be Ospreay’s turn to ambush a tired champion. Does MJF have a patriotic getaway car waiting in the parking lot that he can jump into, if necessary? Ospreay might want to slash some tires out there before he makes his way into the arena to beat the shit out of MJF.

The rest of tonight’s lineup

Bryan Danielson vs. Jeff Jarrett is booked for tonight in an Anything Goes match, and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat will be on hand to witness it as a special guest. Jarrett believes Danielson needs this kind of brutal hardcore match to properly prepare for his Title vs. Career match against AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland at Wembley Stadium. Is the legendary Steamboat putting himself in danger again by appearing in AEW for such a violent fight?

Katsuyori Shibata vs. “Bad Apple” Bryan Keith is scheduled for Dynamite, with FTW Champion Chris Jericho on commentary. Does Shibata have a friend or two ready to watch his back just in case The Learning Tree decides to overwhelm him with the numbers game?

Mariah May is in action tonight against Viva Van, who she will most likely destroy as she gets ready for her match at All In against AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm. After their wild brawl on Collision, will the champ appear once this match is over to get her hands on May again?

Other stuff to keep an eye

- Will Britt Baker be reinstated from suspension and come looking for Kamille and TBS Champion Mercedes Mone tonight on Dynamite?

- If Tony Khan plans to book Jon Moxley in a match at Wembley Stadium, then Jon will have to return to AEW television very soon. His buddy Claudio Castagnoli happens to be the top contender to AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada, so maybe there will be an angle there that draws Mox back into the fold.

- Darby Allin loves setting TNT Champion Jack Perry on fire. Will The Elite do something equally terrible to Darby before he faces Perry for the belt at Wembley Stadium?

- Hangman Page’s new attitude isn’t really helping him in the ring, as he’s lost his last three matches on Dynamite. Is the former world champ falling out of consideration for a match at All In?

- PAC recently said he won’t be denied his moment this year at Wembley Stadium. Is this yet another case where The Bastard fails to deliver on his word?

- Daddy Ass and The Acclaimed think it’s bullshit when FTR claims to be the heart and soul of AEW. How do AEW World Tag Team Champions Matthew and Nicholas Jackson plan to capitalize on the tension and fighting between these two teams?

- House of Black wants revenge against AEW World Trios Champions The Patriarchy. Do any other trios plan to join this story for a multi-team match at All In, such as The Conglomeration or The Undisputed Kingdom?

- Saraya is not happy at all with her current absence from the All In card at Wembley Stadium. Complaining about it isn’t working, so she better come up with a better idea for getting herself booked in London.

- The Beast Mortos is awesome, and will hopefully be announced for a match on one of AEW’s TV shows this week.

- Will Tony Khan tease a HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT at some point today in order to keep viewers locked into Dynamite and away from the Olympics?

- Where the f*** is Wardlow?

What will you be looking for on Dynamite?
