Algerian star Akram Hamidi faces biggest fight to date at ONE Friday Fights 34

Algerian Muay Thai sensation Akram Hamidi is under a month away from the biggest fight of his career, on the biggest stage of his career. The 24-year-old may only be taking on his second fight in ONE Championship but it is against huge pedigree in Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai, on one of the year’s most anticipated cards – ONE Friday Fights 34: Rodtang vs Superlek. With the eyes of the combat sports world on him, one of the MENA region’s biggest fight prospects will be looking to build on his ONE debut success when a devastating body shot crumpled Jomhod Auto Muay Thai in the second round. That announced him onto the global stage in style, but a 29-4-1 record in Muay Thai and kickboxing shows the excitement around him as a prospect is not misguided. That TKO at ONE Friday Fights 22 was the latest in a string of impressive stoppages – including three consecutive KO wins prior to his arrival in ONE, all of which came by way of his ultra dangerous knee attacks. A 15-year veteran of the sport, Prajanchai PK Saenchai will provide the sternest of tests. A former Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion and now holder of the interim title, he has competed in hundreds of bouts across an illustrious career that has made him a household name in his native Thailand and further afield into the fight world. He is also coming off an impressive second-round TKO win over Sam-A Gaiyanghadao – and both men know a win will take them a step closer to an undisputed crown.
