AEW Continental Classic off to a chaotic start with upsets and a brawl

AEW’s third annual Continental Classic tournament, aka the C2, kicked off on Dynamite tonight (Nov. 26) in Nashville.

The action kicked off with the man who won the 2024 C2, and who still holds the Continental title as part of AEW’s new Unified championship, Kazuchika Okada. The Rainmaker is now billed (fairly, in the estimation of many) as the “World’s Greatest Tournament Wrestler”. He’s also favored to advance to the finals again, where theconventional wisdom says he’ll have the showdown with Callis Family teammate Konosuke Takeshita that AEW’s been building to for months.

Against another Callis Family member tonight, Okada lost. Fletcher caught him with a victory roll, beating him in the C2 for the second straight year. Unlike Takeshita, the Protostar didn’t get the finger from his teammate:
