Adamawa Police Arrest 29-Year-Old Man for Murd*ring 5-Year-Old Boy

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 29-year-old man, Isiaka Hassan, over the alleged murder of a five-year-old boy.

According to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the incident came to light after the victim’s mother, Hadiza Bashiru, reported that her son had gone missing and was last seen in the company of the suspect.

Following his arrest, Hassan was interrogated and reportedly confessed to the crime, admitting that he had also planned to bury the child in a shallow grave.

In a statement released, it says;
“On 30/08/2025, the Adamawa State Police Command received a report from Hadiza Bashiru of Tingno, Lamurde LGA, that her 5-year-old son, Abba Bashiru, was missing and was last seen with one Isiaka Hassan,” the statement read.

“On the strength of that, the command’s operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer, Tingno, swiftly led an operation and arrested the said Isiaka Hassan, who during interrogation confessed to having conspired with one yet to be arrested to k!ll the boy and bury him in a shallow grave. The corpse was exhumed and taken to Hospital for autopsy.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris Psc(+), has directed the State CID to take over the case and ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect.

“The Command reassures members of the public of its commitment to ensure justice is served and calls for continued cooperation in the fight against violent crime across the State.”
