46-Year-Old Nigerian Woman Missing in the US Found Dead

A missing Nigerian woman, Olasinmibo “Sinmi” Abosede, has been found dead in Naperville, Illinois, United States, after being declared missing since July 30.

The 46-year-old was last seen at around 9:20 a.m. on July 30, when she walked away from her home in the 2100 block of Sudbury Street.

According to a joint news release from the Naperville Police Department and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County, her body was discovered on the afternoon of Thursday, August 14, near a trailhead at the southwest corner of Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve at 83rd Street and Chandelle Drive.

Police revealed they were called to the scene after receiving a report of a dead body. During the search, officers were led through a dense area of high grass where they found Abosede’s body lying on the ground. Her clothing matched what she was last seen wearing.
In an update shared on X, her cousin, Fehintola Da Silva, wrote: “Because many of you shared and reposted with such care, I feel I owe it to you to share this. My cousin, Sinmi, was found dead. This has been a blow to our family.
To everyone who reposted, shared, and reached out during the search, thank you for your kindness. May her soul RIP”
