2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid, borrowing Mitsubishi’s PHEV hardware for ~38 miles (≈61 km) of electric range and 248 hp.

Nissan USA has unveiled the 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid, marking the brand’s first compact-SUV PHEV offering as it prepares a full next-generation Rogue for 2027. Rather than a ground-up Nissan design, the new Rogue PHEV is clearly a close sibling of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV — same powertrain, very similar styling, and an interior that carries over much of the Outlander’s hardware.

Under the skin the Rogue pairs a 2.4-litre four-cylinder with two electric motors and a 16.8-kWh usable lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output is 248 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, routed to all four wheels. Nissan quotes an estimated 38 miles (≈61.2 km) of electric-only range and an EPA total range of roughly 420 miles (≈676 km). The battery recharges in about 7.5 hours on a Level-2 charger, but there’s no DC fast-charging capability.

Styling differentiates the Rogue from the Outlander only in a few Nissan touches: a revised grille with a Nissan badge and some blacked-out trim and accents. The new PHEV will be offered in SL and Platinum trims and rides on 20-inch wheels similar to the Mitsubishi’s appearance. Inside, equipment mirrors the 2025 Outlander PHEV rather than the refreshed 2026 Outlander — a 9.0-inch infotainment screen is standard, with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and available head-up display on higher trims. Seating for seven and practical cargo volumes are retained.

Safety and driver aids come well stocked: automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot and rear-cross traffic warnings, a 360-degree camera, and Nissan’s ProPilot Assist 1.1 are standard; the PHEV does not get the hands-off ProPilot 2.0 that some non-hybrid Rogues offer. Nissan says sales begin in early 2026 but hasn’t released pricing. For context the 2025 Outlander PHEV started at about $42,145 (≈₹37,36,154) and industry estimates put the Rogue PHEV’s entry price near $49,000 (≈₹43,43,850).
