20-YR-OLD SUSPECTED KIDN@PPER NABBED WITH N8.4M CASH, AMM¥NITIONS, OTHERS IN BAUCHI 

A 20-year-old man, identified as Abubakar Isah, has been arrested by the police in Bauchi State over alleged criminal conspiracy, armed robb€ry, kidn@pping, illegal possession of prohibited fir£arms and amm¥nition.

He was arrested on September 16, 2022, at about 5:30 p.m. with rifl€s, amm¥nition and N8.4 million cash, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Mamman Sanda, said on Tuesday, October 18.

The CP, who spoke while parading the suspect before newsmen at the Command headquarters, said the suspect was arrested at Tashan Daudu, Soro via Ganjuwa LGA at Gobirawa. 

According to him, “The following exhibits were recovered in his possession; N8.466,000 cash, one SMG rifle with 92 live amm¥nition, one empty magazine SMG OFN rifle, one 7.62mm calibre of live amm¥nitions, eight different models of phones, one MP3, one Honda Motorcycle, one cutlass.”

The CP said that all efforts to get him to talk so that his boss and others can be traced and arrested proved abortive as the telephone number he gave has since been switched off.

He said from the look of things, the suspect belongs to a gang of kidn@ppers because there is no way someone of his age will have such an amount of money and the sophisticated weapons found with him.
