15-Year-Old Beauty Queen Ivana Marcela López Muralles Killed in Motorbike Accident

Ivana Marcela López Muralles, a 15-year-old beauty queen from Guatemala, has tragically died after being struck by a pickup truck while riding her motorbike.

According to local authorities, the fatal crash occurred in Nueva Concepción, southwest of Antigua Guatemala. Reports indicate that neither Ivana nor the truck driver saw each other before the collision. The pickup, which was reportedly traveling at high speed, ran over the teenager and dragged her several yards, killing her instantly.

Her motorbike was later found trapped underneath the chassis of the pickup truck. Police have since detained the driver for further investigation.

Ivana was well-known in her community and had been participating in beauty pageants from a young age. She was the reigning Flor de la Feria Queen 2024–2025 of Nueva Concepción and had been preparing to hand over her crown in the coming months. She had also competed in her school’s beauty pageants and other local competitions.

Her funeral was held on Saturday, November 15, with the hearse decorated with the sashes she had earned throughout her pageant journey. She is survived by her parents and her younger brother.

Although riding a motorbike under the age of 18 is illegal in Guatemala, some reports list Ivana’s age as 16 or 17.
