11 players in Super Falcons camp ahead Benin clash

Eleven players are in the Super Falcons’ camp as preparations continue for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Amazons of Benin Republic.

The defending champions began training in Lome, Togo, on Monday, with nine players participating in the team’s first official session.

Among them were Asisat Oshoala, Folashade Ijamilusi, Taiwo Afolabi, Miracle Usani, Joy Omewa, Anderline Mgbechi, Blessing Illivieda, and Kafayat Mafisere.

Goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and midfielder Christy Ucheibe later joined the squad at their Hotel Sarakawa base on Monday night.

More players are expected to arrive ahead of today’s training session, which is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The Super Falcons will face Benin in the first leg at the Stade de Kegue, Lome, on Friday, before hosting the return leg at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta, next Tuesday.
