‎In a heartfelt tribute marking a significant milestone of transformation and unity, Mr. Tom Garba, Publisher of Tgnews, has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty Tol Alheri Bulus Nyako (Tol Huba), Dr. Iliyasu Gashinbaki Yerima (Yerima of Huba Chiefdom), Barrister Boss Mustapha and the entire people of the Huba Chiefdom in Adamawa State, Nigeria.

‎In a statement released today, Mr. Garba praised the remarkable achievements of the Huba Chiefdom just one year after its historic restoration under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

‎The chiefdom, which had been downgraded during colonial times and denied autonomous status for over a century, was revived in December 2024, with the Tol Huba receiving his staff of office on February 14, 2025.

‎This restoration has sparked a wave of progress, fostering greater unity, deeper love, and stronger communal bonds among the Huba people—also known as the Kilba ethnic group.

‎”Within this short period, the Huba Chiefdom has achieved great things that inspire pride across Adamawa and beyond,” Garba stated.

‎”Unity has been strengthened, love among the people has grown deeper, and communal harmony has flourished like never before. Traditional institutions have been revitalized, cultural heritage celebrated, and developmental initiatives launched with remarkable momentum.”

‎He particularly commended Dr. Iliyasu Gashinbaki Yerima, a distinguished son of the Huba Chiefdom from Hong Local Government Area. As the Yerima—a revered traditional title—he embodies leadership deeply rooted in heritage while excelling in modern governance and anti-corruption efforts.

‎Dr. Yerima is widely recognized as an anti-corruption czar, serving as Founder, President, and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN).

‎His expertise in forensics and fraud investigation has positioned him as a trailblazer, making the fight against corruption more effective and accessible.

‎Through innovative use of forensic technologies, data analysis, and certified training programs, he empowers institutions and individuals to detect, investigate, and prevent economic crimes.

‎As a traditional leader, he bridges ancestral wisdom with cutting-edge tools, advocating for transparency in public procurement, financial autonomy at local levels, and stronger anti-corruption frameworks.

‎His contributions extend beyond forensics: he co-founded the ABIS GROUP in agriculture, energy, and e-commerce, and maintains affiliations with bodies such as the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

‎Stakeholders consistently praise his integrity, strategic vision, and unwavering commitment to justice—qualities that make him exceptionally effective in both traditional councils and national anti-graft advocacy.

‎Mr. Garba described the Huba Chiefdom as “part of me—they’re my wonderful in-laws,” expressing deep personal affinity for the community’s warmth and resilience.

‎He highlighted figures like Barr. Boss Mustapha, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, whom he regards as a father figure. “He has guided, nurtured, and mentored me into the man I have become. Barr. Boss is more than my oga; he has done a lot to make me the person I am today,” Garba said.

‎Engr. Nimrod Musa, the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) and CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission, whom Garba describes as the Sheikh of Volleyball, a shining Kilba son and one of the many dear Kilba sons and daughters so close to his heart.

‎“Engr. Nimrod has elevated Nigerian sports globally with visionary leadership, scholarships, and unopposed re-elections—bringing immense pride to the Kilba community through his dedication to youth empowerment and excellence,” Garba said.

‎”I pray for God’s abundant wisdom upon the Tol Huba to guide and rule his people in justice, harmony, and lasting peace,” he added.

‎Mr. Garba also congratulated all the Huba people on the successful celebration of their one-year anniversary. “I pray for God’s abundant wisdom upon the Tol Huba and Yerima to guide and rule their people in justice, harmony, and lasting peace,” he concluded.

‎The one-year mark has featured vibrant cultural revivals, youth empowerment initiatives, development summits, and significant pledges—including Governor Fintiri’s N100 million support for the Huba Development Action Plan—serving as powerful testaments to a chiefdom reborn. Tgnews salutes this inspiring journey of excellence and looks forward to even greater strides in the years ahead.
