Chief Bode George, a leader in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), spoke during an interview monitored by The Sun. While speaking about the internal strife within the party, George was asked who he was specifically referring to.

He replied, “Ok, take Rivers State; you mentioned former governor Wike, then the governor presently serving, Governor Fubara; there is some kind of disagreement between the two.”

“Now, the pain is spreading to the base of the party. There are leaders and elders who should have waded in and tell them, you know it didn’t go well. But it is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees of the party.”

“That is the upper chamber. Let them get people to meet group A and meet group B. They have leaders on either side. This party didn’t just come from anywhere. Pa Ekwueme and those others ensured that there was continuity and peace.”

George agreed that disagreements will arise in any organization with more than one, two, or three members, but disagreements must never be hostile.

He accepted that there would be disagreements within the PDP on concepts and other matters. And for this reason, they have elders, and the Board of Trustees was established in order to uphold and preserve the necessary tranquility.

According to George, the elders, or the Board of Trustees, are called in when there is conflict between members when the national working committee is unable to resolve it.

He suggested that Pa Ekwueme never raised his hands in an effort to dismantle the party; instead, he continued to make sure that there was harmony and understanding.

He challenged Senator Wabara to rise up and said that both Wabara and the Secretary are only warming the chairs and tables there.

He said that while a few of the PDP’s founding founders are still alive, their health is not good. He advised them to go meet with them and include them, as they are now needed in the house.

He gave his word that the issue is manageable and not out of control for the party. He mentioned that they have survived harsher situations in the past….Seē _ Morē
