THE BEAUTY OF LUCIFER (EZEKIEL 28)

The Bible gives us insight into Lucifer, the arch angel who was once known for his immense beauty, wisdom, and power. His story is fascinating and serves as a cautionary tale for humanity. Ezekiel 28, alongside other scriptural references, helps us understand Lucifer's origin, his privileged position in heaven, the greatness of his magnificent appearance, his wisdom, and eventually, his tragic fall. This teaching focuses on appreciating the beauty of Lucifer in his created state while also understanding the consequences of pride and rebellion.

CREATION OF LUCIFER

(Ezekiel 28:13-15)

"You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, emerald, and carbuncle; and crafted in gold were your settings and your engravings. On the day that you were created, they were prepared. You were an anointed guardian cherub. I placed you; you were on the holy mountain of God; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked. You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you."

Lucifer was created as an arch angel of extraordinary beauty and magnificence. The Bible describes him adorned with precious stones like sapphire, emerald, and diamond. These gems signify the rare beauty and value placed on him by God. Lucifer was a created being, fashioned by God's hands, designed to reflect God’s glory and perfection.

God bestowed upon Lucifer the role of a "guardian cherub," a position of great honor and authority in heaven. He was assigned to walk among the "stones of fire" on God's holy mountain, indicating his access to divine presence and proximity to the throne of God. His creation reflects God's craftsmanship in fashioning a being that embodied purity and brilliance before any sin was found in him.

LUCIFER’S POSITION IN HEAVEN

(Isaiah 14:12-14)

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'"

Lucifer held a high and exalted position in heaven, often referred to as the "son of the morning," which points to his bright and glorious nature. As one of God's most powerful angels, Lucifer had a privileged role and was entrusted with great authority and responsibility. He was not only beautiful but also wise, and he stood in close proximity to God.

Lucifer's role as a "guardian cherub" placed him among the highest ranking angels, suggesting that he had authority over other angelic beings. His access to the "holy mountain of God" and the divine presence was unmatched. His role was one of leadership, reflecting both the authority and the trust God had in him.

The Beauty of Lucifer (Morning Star)

THE BEAUTY OF LUCIFER

(Ezekiel 28:12-13)

"You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering..."

Lucifer’s beauty is one of the most prominent features highlighted in the Bible. He is described as "perfect in beauty" and "full of wisdom." His appearance was majestic, adorned with every precious stone, symbolizing his worth and radiance. Lucifer's outward beauty mirrored his internal wisdom, making him the epitome of God’s perfect creation.

The description of the precious stones—sardius, topaz, diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, among others—paints a picture of someone who was adorned with the finest of materials, radiating God’s glory. His covering was not ordinary; it was divine and unmatched, reflecting the high honor God had given him. In Eden, the garden of God, Lucifer's beauty was evident, standing out even in a place of ultimate splendor.

Lucifer's beauty, however, was not merely physical. It extended to his wisdom and capabilities. He was "the seal of perfection," meaning there was nothing lacking in him. Every aspect of his being was crafted to reflect God's glory. This completeness made him stand out among the angels as the most beautiful and wise.

LUCIFER'S POWER AND WISDOM

(Ezekiel 28:14)

"You were an anointed guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones."

God endowed Lucifer with immense power and wisdom. As a guardian cherub, Lucifer had both the responsibility and authority to protect and oversee. His power was unrivaled, and his wisdom was profound. He was capable of great things, and his understanding surpassed that of many other angels.

Lucifer’s wisdom was one of his defining traits. He was not only physically magnificent, but his intellect and insight were unparalleled. His wisdom made him a figure of influence in heaven, respected and admired by other angelic beings.

However, it was this wisdom that led to his downfall. As Ezekiel 28:17 says, "Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor." Lucifer began to see himself as more than what he was. His wisdom and beauty led to pride, and this pride ultimately caused his rebellion.

THE FALL OF LUCIFER

(Isaiah 14:12-15)

"How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.' But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit."

Lucifer's fall is one of the most tragic stories in the Bible. Despite his beauty, power, and wisdom, his heart was filled with pride. He desired to exalt himself above God, to raise his throne above the stars of heaven. He was no longer content with his position; he wanted more.

The sin of pride entered his heart, and he rebelled against God. This rebellion led to his expulsion from heaven. The once-beautiful and powerful angel was cast down to the earth, and his name, which once reflected light and glory, became synonymous with darkness and evil. Lucifer, the "morning star," fell from the highest heights of heaven to the lowest depths of the pit.

Lucifer’s fall reminds us of the dangers of pride and the consequences of rebellion against God. His beauty and wisdom, once a source of admiration, became the very things that led to his downfall.

THE WISDOM OF LUCIFER AFTER HIS FALL

(2 Corinthians 11:14)

"And no wonder, for Satan himself transformed as an angel of light."

Even after his fall, Lucifer retained his wisdom. Though corrupted, his understanding of heavenly things remained. He uses this wisdom to deceive and lead others astray, appearing as an "angel of light." His knowledge of God’s ways and spiritual realities makes him a formidable adversary.

Lucifer’s wisdom is now used for evil. He knows how to manipulate, deceive, and tempt humanity, using his knowledge of the truth to distort and destroy. This is why the Bible warns us to be vigilant, for Lucifer, now known as Satan, is still powerful and wise, though his intentions are no longer pure.

THE LESSONS FROM LUCIFER’S BEAUTY AND HIS FALL

The story of Lucifer teaches us many important lessons.

First, beauty and wisdom, though gifts from God, can become sources of pride if not handled with humility. Lucifer's downfall began when he started to take pride in his beauty and wisdom, forgetting that these were gifts from God, not achievements of his own making.

Second, rebellion against God leads to destruction. Lucifer, in his pride, wanted to take God's place, but instead of rising higher, he was cast down. This serves as a warning to all of us about the consequences of pride and rebellion.

Finally, Lucifer’s story shows us that external beauty and power do not necessarily reflect inner righteousness. Lucifer was outwardly beautiful, but inwardly, his heart became corrupted. True beauty comes from humility, obedience, and a heart that reflects God's character.

“Father, I give you my soul, I am a sinner, put your hands and accept my soul, take it, change my life and make it good, make my life new, help me Christ Jesus to live for you till death. Father give me the strength and courage to die for your sake, save me from death in your call, and let me to shine. Remember me in paradise, inscribe my name in the book of life; forgive me for disobeying you by worshipping on Sunday set by man government, still keep me besides you in heaven after my death. Amen.”

Thank you for just saying that prayer of salvation.

Lucifer, once a beautiful and wise angel, serves as a powerful example of the dangers of pride and rebellion. His story, as outlined in (Ezekiel 28) and (Isaiah 14), reminds us that all the gifts we have—whether beauty, wisdom, or power—come from God and should be used for His glory. When we begin to exalt ourselves, we risk falling just as Lucifer did. His beauty, though magnificent, was marred by his pride, leading to his tragic fall from grace. Let us learn from his story, remaining humble and obedient to God, recognizing that true beauty lies in a heart that is aligned with God's will.
