Giving your first fruit to God is the key to prosperity – Adeboye

General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG, Pastor E.A Adeboye has said fresh graduates should give their first fruit to God and get back in multitude.

He made the call while addressing graduating senior students of Redeemer’s University during the 15th convocation ceremony at the Ede campus in Osun state.

Adeboye, represented by the School’s Board of Trustee Chairman, Pastor Olukayode Pitan, said God rewards those who give to him in the form of tithe and offering.

The cleric also charged the graduands not to not allow word attraction to distract them from the fear of God towards building a prosperous nation.

His words; “To the graduating students, I congratulate you very warmly. As you exit from the university, don’t allow the world and its lust to distract you to take the fear of God in you out; practice godliness. Be a lover of God and his word, and remember that all things answer to prayer if rightly done.

“God is the rewarder, give to him your first fruit, tithe and offering; nothing can stop your prosperity. Always remember your Alma Mata as you go. God who is the owner of Redeemer University will bless you”.

General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has revealed that he does not pay 10 percent of his income as tithe.

The clergyma who recently stirred controversy with an attack on white garment churches, explained that he pays more tha 10 percent as tithe.

Ibiyeomie stated this while addressing members of his church on Sunday in Rivers state, noted that God would flog him if he pays that amount.

He described the refusal to pay tithe as a form of greed and said those who fall under that category of none tithe givers find life very tight for them.

Ibiyeomie said; “In fact, these days, I don’t even pay ten, my P.A. is there. I pay far beyond ten, for every money I get.

“That is what you are struggling to pay as tithe, me I pay more than ten percent as offering. My tithe is not fifteen percent, I won’t tell you the percentage, I’m on another level. I won’t tell you what I pay as tithe. If I pay ten percent, God will flog me.

“Me, pay tithe of ten percent for what? You pay ten percent, that’s the recommended one, but me, I’m at another level.”
