EY Global Delivery Services (GDS) has expanded its presence in Kerala. It has inaugurated a new office at Prestige Cyber Green in Kochi, marking the fourth GDS facility in the city.

The new office will support EY GDS’s growing workforce. The company currently has over 10,000 employees in Kerala, with 7,000 based in Kochi and 3,000 in Thiruvananthapuram. EY GDS plans to double its workforce in the state within the next four to five years.

In a LinkedIn post, P Rajeev, Kerala’s Minister for Industries, mentioned that EY GDS’s commitment reflected its ambition to house 20% of its Indian workforce in Kerala. He underscored the state’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation, investment, and inclusive development.

“The presence of EY GDS here will drive job creation, foster skill development, and contribute significantly to the state’s digital transformation journey,” Rajeev said.

Kerala tops the list in ease of doing business, which is one of the reasons why companies increasingly choose the state to establish and expand their operations.

EY GDS is a prime example, with its facilities in Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi playing critical roles in areas such as blockchain, cybersecurity, analytics, and AI.

Speaking about the growth, a state official remarked, “We are welcoming major companies almost every week, and it is truly rewarding to see already established companies expanding further in the state. They have recognised Kerala as the ideal place for growth and innovation.”

Kochi, with its dynamic business environment and skilled professionals, is an ideal backdrop for this growth chapter.

Ajay Anand, global vice chair of EY, said this move will tap into Kerala’s rich talent pool. “This strategic expansion is aimed at fostering innovation, creating new opportunities, and propelling sustainable growth,” he said.
Kochi’s dynamic business environment and skilled talent pool make it an essential part of EY GDS’s global strategy.
