Ama Busia, a towering figure in Ghanaian politics and former First Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has passed away at the age of 87. Her demise came to pass on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, following a brief illness. The sad event occurred at the Nyaho Medical Centre in the wee hours of the day, confirmed by her son, Dr. Obeng Busia. Ama Busia was not only a sibling to the late Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia but also an influential member of the NPP's Council of Elders, leaving her mark in the annals of Ghana's political history.
