Passion for Social Impact

Beyond her academic and leadership accomplishments, Dorcas is a passionate advocate for social change. She co-founded Just Like You, an initiative that addresses stereotypes surrounding children with physical disabilities in Nigeria. Through innovative projects, the initiative has directly impacted over 50 children and reached more than 2,000 individuals with its message of inclusion. Just Like You gained international recognition as one of the top 13 impactful projects in the Shaping the Future Changemakers Challenge in 2023.

Dorcas’s work reflects her unwavering commitment to disability inclusion, health equity, and gender equality. Her passion for supporting vulnerable groups shone through her undergraduate dissertation, which explored the use of artificial intelligence in rehabilitating children with neurodevelopmental disorders. This groundbreaking research highlighted her belief in the intersection of technology and rehabilitation to drive impactful solutions.

A Multifaceted Changemaker

Dorcas has amassed over 150 hours of volunteer work, completed more than 30 certifications in various disciplines, and co-executed over 10 projects. Her efforts earned her the NeuroRehab Academic and Volunteer Excellence Award, further affirming her as a force to reckon with in her field.
